I consider myself a semi-professional eater, so food photography is so much fun for me. From first to last: Mozzarella, cherry tomato, and prosciutto topped with basil. Heirloom tomato sauce dip with pita chips. Watermelon topped with feta cheese with a balsamic vinegar drizzle.
Here’s a few more from our Italian Festival. Saturday and Sunday are the days of the “cheese-rolling contest.” It’s exactly what it sounds like- whoever can roll the cheese the furthest wins. Special thanks to my brother for one of the shots.
This weekend is the weekend of the Festa di San Donato. Our family comes from a little village outside of Benevento, named Pontelandolfo. Since many of the “natives” (and I say this because we are basically mountain people) migrated to Waterbury, CT, they decided to start a community club called the Pontelandolfo Community Club.
Every year we hold a feast and have every traditional Italian food you can think of- from pizzelle to suffrito sandwiches. Here’s a few shots of my cousins working the baccala frita booth.
